Abstract

This chapter reviews studies on the link between obesity and coronary heart disease (CHD). These include results from the Chicago Heart Association Detection Project in Industry Study and the Western Electric Study. Studies confirm that overweight is one of the major CHD/CVD risk factors. Concerted efforts are needed for its prevention and treatment.
