Observation of slow-light and matched dispersion in sodium vapor for applications to Laub-drag enhanced rotation sensing

Abstract

We demonstrate EIT and slow light (vg ≈ c/600) in sodium vapor, in excellent agreement with a direct interferometric phase measurement of dispersion, for applications to experiments currently pursued to demonstrate Laub-drag enhanced rotation sensing.
