Observation of the ηc ′ (21S0) Resonance in Photon-Photon Fusion at CLEO

Abstract

We report on the observation of ηc′(21S0), the radial excitation of ηc(11S0), the ground state of charmonium in the two-photon fusion reaction γγ → ηc′ → KS0K±π± in 13.4 fb-1 of CLEO II/II.V data and 9.2 fb-1 of CLEO III data. The data have been analyzed to extract the ηc′ resonance parameters. The results from recent observations of ηc′ by Belle and BaBar are also presented.
