Abstract

Knowledge of the crystal structures of oligothiophenes is necessary if progress is to be made towards understanding the structure‐property relationships of polythiophenes, since single crystals of these conducting polymers are not available. Two oligothiophene derivatives (one of which is shown in the Figure) have been designed, synthesized, and struturally characterized. (Figure Presented.)
