Abstract

It is pointed out that small deviations of the cerium magnesium nitrate (CMN) temperature scale from the thermodynamic one, may give rise to significant errors in inerpretation of specific heat measurements performed with CMN-based thermometry. On reassessing the conclusions reached by Hebral et al. concerning the anomalous low temperature dependence of the specific heat of solid **3He, it is found that all presently available data are in qualitative agreement.
