Abstract

Through measurements of modulation transfer functions (MTF), the imaging characteristics of three x-ray image intensifiers equipped with dissimilar input face designs coupled with photofluorographic cameras were evaluated in the clinical environment. The MTF data have made it possible to correlate and compare the clinical impressions of these imaging systems in a quantitative manner to evaluate and determine the feasibility of utilizing these imaging systems for different clinical approaches.
