While we described patients for whom the allergy can be removed from their medical record without testing, some patients may express significant anxiety in doing so. Recognize that there is utility in testing these extremely low-risk patients if it would provide them with additional reassurance that they can safely receive these medications in the future. This rationale for performing an OGC in these patients is supported by the 2022 joint practice parameters of the American Academy and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI and ACAAI) [3].
