Abstract

The composition limits for the spinel solid solution Fe(Fe1‐x Alx)2O4 were determined experimentally as a function of oxygen pressure at 1280°, 1380°, and 1500°C, using precise lattice parameter measurements. The results were combined with information from the literature to develop self‐consistent stability diagrams of P02 vs cation fraction at constant temperatures for the iron‐aluminum oxide system.
