Abstract

A study is conducted is to clarify whether the photocurrent in Al/porphyrin cells arises main from energy conversion or from photocorrosion of aluminum electrode. Results indicate that the photocurrent in the indium-tin-oxide/porphyrin/Al cells arises from the photoaccelerated oxidation of aluminum electrode and it does not originate from conversion of light energy to electrical energy.
