Abstract

The photoexcitation of intrasilicalite in I2, which results in emission in the near-infrared, was discussed. A first order model, to describe the repulsive interaction between iodine and the zeolite cage that lead to caging, was developed. The analysis showed that an ion pair model of the excited state potential described the observed ultraviolet visible emission from this system.
