Abstract
The use of photosensors for the identification of mechanical characteristics of flexible robotic structures is discussed. The photosensors can be used for the analysis of fatigue lifetime by exciting the structure. The configuration of the sensor system consists of the incidence of a light spot from the tip of the link to be studied on the linear photodetector. A fine and flexible optical fiber is fixed on some points on the link, so that it collects the light from the external source. The sensor for the measurement technique is the position sensor device (PSD) from Hamamatsu.
