Abstract

In summary, the circadian timing- system regulates the timing of the sleep-wake cycle and propensity tor sleep and alertness. As proposed by litigar 4, the function of the circadian clock, is to promote alertness, thus counteracting the homeostatic drive for sleep during the day anti facilitating consolidation of sleep during the night.
