The plastic method of structural analysis employs a feature that in the elastic state as well as in the plastic state it represents the proportioning of girder sections subject to bending. It is assumed that the mode of the collapse mechanism will be of no decisive influence upon the shearing forces and the torsional moment. The trapezoid is supposed to represent the relationship between the bending moment and the curvature of beam. The load is supposed to be static.
