Abstract
Post operative care of the frontal sinus is dependent on multiple factors including the procedure performed as well as the indications for that procedure. With advances in surgical navigation and instrumentation, endoscopic approaches have largely displaced open frontal sinus surgery but external procedures such the osteoplastic flap (OPF) are still utilized in occasional cases. Consequently, depending on the approach used, the post operative management and long term monitoring will obviously differ. The indications for frontal sinus surgery may also influence the intensity and duration of post operative care, particularly in the acute setting.
