Abstract

The complex [formula omitted] (2) has been obtained by the elution of trans-[formula omitted] (1) on silica or Florisil supports and by the reaction of 1 with thallium(I) acetate. The complex trans-[formula omitted] (3) is a byproduct of the Florisil-assisted reaction. Complex 3 has also been synthesized by reduction of 1 with hydrazine hydrate. The dimer [formula omitted] (4) forms from 1 in dioxane or toluene/acetic acid solvent. Complexes 1–3 have been characterized by means of elemental analysis and IR and NMR spectroscopy. The structures of 1–4 have been determined by X-ray methods.
