Abstract
A degenerate optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on the χ(3) (Kerr) nonlinearity of optical fibers is demonstrated. The parametric gain is provided by a fiber Sagnac interferometer, which operates a phase-sensitive amplifier (PSA) for signals at the same frequency as the pump. It is shown that the bandwidth of the DOPO signal pulse is significantly larger than that of the pump pulse.
