Quasi-linear optical pulses in strongly dispersion-managed transmission systems

Abstract

The evolution of optical pulses in strongly dispersion-managed systems is studied. For large map strength s, the nonlinearity decreases as O(log s/s), and the spectral intensity is an invariant. A unified description of solitons and quasi-linear pulses is explained.
