Abstract

We demonstrate single-directional output coupling of light from micro-resonator laser using a radially placed waveguide based on a new enhanced-radiation-loss output coupling mechanism. The 20μm-diameter electrically pumped laser has 11.5mA lasing threshold with >0.2mW output.
