Abstract

Rubidium lead phosphorus tetrasulfide, RbPbPS₄, possesses the CsSmGeS₄ structure type, crystallizing in space group P2 ₁2₁2₁ of the orthorhombic system. The structure consists of two-dimensional [PbPS₄] layers built from PbS ₇ monocapped trigonal prisms and PS₄ tetrahedra. The layers are separated by Rb atoms.
