Abstract
Rubidium lead phosphorus tetrasulfide, RbPbPS4, possesses the CsSmGeS4 structure type, crystallizing in space group P2 12121 of the orthorhombic system. The structure consists of two-dimensional [PbPS4] layers built from PbS 7 monocapped trigonal prisms and PS4 tetrahedra. The layers are separated by Rb atoms.
