Abstract

We thank each discussant for his insightful comments and suggestions for improve-ment. We are pleased by the positive reception of our current endeavor towards model-based prediction of hitting performance. It is our belief that academic statisticians can serve a leadership role in the transition of quantitative analysis of baseball from simple tabulations to sophisticated model-based approaches.
