Abstract

More than 80% of tumors originating in the kidney are renal cell carcinomas. Tumors of the renal pelvis make up another 10%, and the remaining tumors include a variety of rare lesions such as collecting duct carcinomas, renal sarcomas, or other rare epithelial tumors. This chapter presents evidence-based literature only for renal cell carcinoma and its histologic subtypes.
