Abstract

The following eight generic names are recommended for conservation: Cathaya Chun & Kuang against Cathaya Karav., Cycadeoidea against Mantellia, Laricoidites against Laevigata-sporites, Pleuromeia with that spelling, Rhabdosphaera against Rhabdolithes, Selenopemphix against Margosphaera, Taeniopteris, and Ullmannia with a conserved type against Anthotypolithes and Cupressites. The following three species names are also recommended for conservation: Cycadeoidea megalophylla against Mantellia nidiformis, Selenopemphix nephroides against Margosphaera velata, Taeniopteris vittata, and Ullmannia bronnii with a conserved type against Anthotypolithes ranunculiformis, Cupressus ullmannii, and Cupressites bituminosus. The following generic name is not recommended for conservation: Laevigatosporites Ibrahim with that spelling against Laevigata-sporites R. Potonié & Gelletich and Laevigatisporites R. Potonié & Gelletich. The following species name is not recommended for conservation: Ephedrites cheniae (Liaoxia cheniae) against Potamogeton jeholensis. The committee judged the names Laevigata-sporites, Laevigati-sporites and Laevigato-sporites in any comparison to be not confusable, regardless of whether spelled with or without the hyphen.
