Abstract
The properties of seven detailed community food webs from a variety of environments, including freshwater habitats, marine-freshwater interfaces, and terrestrial environments, were analyzed. Quantitative unifying patterns that describe the properties of the diverse trophic webs considered were uncovered and the random and nonrandom aspects of their structure were captured.
