Abstract

The shear force in the acromioclavicular (AC) joint was limited and the muscle activity in the stabilizers of that joint was improved by implementing a constraint in the shoulder model. The constraint consisted of the implementation of the two parts of the coracoclavicular ligament. The insertion points and the length tension properties of the ligaments were estimated and an analysis of the shear and contact forces was made in the AC joint. A modification of the shoulder rhythm which affects the rhythm when the humerus is above shoulder length was also implemented.
