We have recognized a characteristic pattern of focal abnormalities on bone scans that we believe are due to sacrococcygeal trauma. In many cases, these abnormalities are arranged in a strikingly linear pattern. It is important to consider trauma as cause for sacrococcygeal lesions in order to avoid false interpretation of metastatic disease. In all six patients shown in this report, the bone scans were requested in order to search for metastatic disease.
