Abstract

A study was performed on the shape of linear, flexible polymers upon phase separation in a ternary solution. Monte Carlo simulations were used for the study. A condition was created where both polymer components dissolved in the solvent. It was found that the polymer-polymer demixing at the overlap threshold was preempted by polymer-solvent separation in ternary systems where the solvent quality was poor for both the polymers.
