Abstract

Silanolytic chain transfer in olefin polymerization with supported single-site Ziegler-Natta catalysts was reported. Polymerizations were carried out in toluene slurries under rigorously anhydrous/anaerobic high-vacuum line conditions. Catalyst SiO2/MAO/1 exhibited reasonable activity in the absence of silane. It was found that the molecular weight of the product polymer was significantly higher than that produced by comparable homogeneous systems and the PDI was slightly larger than 2.0.
