Abstract
Nanocrystalline composites - CdSe/polyacrylamide, in which the inorganic component (6 wt%) displays nearly mono-dispersion, were successfully prepared in a single step under γ-irradiation at room temperature and ambient pressure. The sizes of CdSe nanoparticles were limited within 5 nm by the polyacrylamide matrix and the growth process of CdSe nanocrystallites, confined in the polyacrylamide matrix, was studied by UV-VIS absorption spectra.
