Abstract
A model for the stress strain behavior of concrete is discussed which was derived on the assumption that concrete is a composite material. It makes it possible to calculate complete stress- strain curves primarily on the basis of material parameters such as bond strength and matrix strength, and their stress- strain curves, and using some statistical analysis to account for local variations within the bulk of concrete.
