Spectral measurement of the Hall angle response in normal state cuprate superconductors

Abstract

The temperature and frequency dependence of the complex Hall angle for normal state YBa2Cu3O7 films was measured using modulated polarization technique. It was found that the functional dependence of the Hall angle on scattering was not fit for expected Lorentzian response. The analysis showed that a single relaxation rate, linear in temperature, governed transport in cuprates.
