Abstract

STRESS-STRAIN CURVES OF CONCRETE CONFINED WITH SPIRAL REINFORCEMENT WERE DETERMINED. THE INFLUENCE OF COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, AGGREGATE TYPE, AND THE SPACING AND YIELD STRENGTH OF HOOP REINFORCEMENT WAS INVESTIGATED. A MODEL WAS DEVELOPED ONPROPERTIES OF THE HOOP REINFORCEMENT AND CONSTITUTIVE RELATIONSHIP OF PLAIN CONCRETE. THE ANALYTICAL MODEL FAVORABLY PREDICTED THE RESULTS OF THE DISCUSSED EXPERIMENTS AS WELL AS OTHER INVESTIGATIONS.
