Abstract

A general description is given of vacancy patterns in five compounds that contain unique oxygen vacancy patterns: LaSrCuGaO5, LaSrCuAlO5, YBa2Cu3O7, LnSr2Cu2Ga07, and Ba2La2Cu2Sn2O11. The structural similarity among the compounds is stressed by the presentation and examination of AO3-x slices. The influence of the cations on the manner in which successive AO3-x layers are stacked is discussed.
