Abstract

The performance benefits of interpersonal heterogeneity are subject to three failure points; homogenization, fragility, and fragmentation. Structurally redundant heterogeneity (SRH) - a feature that combines heterogeneity and homogeneity in a novel way - mitigates each failure point simultaneously. The effect of SRH is analyzed using data from the National Basketball Association (NBA).
