Abstract
BaNa/Y is of interest as a catalyst for low temperature DeNOx reactions. The kinetics of reduction of surface nitrates by NO on BaNa/Y catalyst was studied via FTIR. Fitting of the surface nitrate concentration as a function of time in the presence of NO showed an apparent second order dependence on surface nitrates at initial times, followed by kinetics that cannot be fit to an apparent first order or second order dependence on the surface nitrate concentration. Several possible kinetic models for this behavior were studied. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 231st ACS National Meeting (Atlanta, GA 3/26-30/2006).
