Abstract

Preliminary studies on the nature of the cracking process of concrete has been done using Acoustic Emission techniques. Single Edge Notch specimens were tested in a closed loop testing machine. Acoustic Emission signals obtained at different loading stages were examined for their frequency content, rise time and source location.
