Abstract
Surface organozirconium electrophiles activated by chemisorption on super acidic sulfated zirconia as hydrogenation and polymerization catalysts were investigated. A synthetic, structural, and mechanistic catalytic study of the electrophile was reported. Protonolytic poisoning revealed that a maximum of ∼68% of Zr sites in Cp′Zr(CH3)3/ZRS400 were catalytically significant for benzene hydrogenation.
