Abstract

Cyclodextrin derivatives such as 1, which contain glucopyranose units in 1C4 conformation, were synthesized from per(6‐O‐tosyl)‐β‐cyclodextrin. The pure α‐cyclodextrin derivative (with six sugar units) was obtained from per(2,3‐O‐benzoyl‐6‐O‐tosyl)‐α‐cyclodextrin. Both anhydrodextrins are potential molecular receptors in which the cavity is lined with hydroxyl groups. (Figure Presented.)
