Abstract

The synthesis of Ba-ferrite microspheres doped with Strontium for thermoseeds in hyperthermia was performed. The particle size and morphology were also examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for the spraypyrolyzed and heat-treated particles from 300°C to 1150°C. It was observed that the synthesis process affects the material properties because the coercive force depended on the composition and the saturation magnetization depended on the anisotropy and stress. The spray-pyrolyzed microspheres calcined at 1000° C and they were expected to be useful as thermoseeds in hyperthermic cancer-treatment.
