Abstract

We have made accurate absolute differential cross section measurements for ground state (p,t) transitions on the targets Ca40,42,43,44,48 in order to study their systematics. Our results are in good agreement with (1f72)2 pickup in a pure (1f72)n model for these nuclei. At the extremes of the shell, very small admixtures, 0.5% (1d32)2 pickup for Ca42 →Ca40 and 0.25% (2p32)2 pickup for Ca48 →Ca46, are required. NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ca48,44,43,42,40(p,t). Ep=40 MeV; measured σc.m.(θ) for ground state transitions. DWBA analysis. Comparison with pure (1f72)n model.
