Abstract
The ternary Al-Pd-Co V-phase and U-phase (reported previously) were studied by powder X-ray and electron diffraction. The V-phase was found to have a primitive monoclinic structure [a=1.0068(2) nm, b=0.3755(1) nm, c=0.6512(4) nm and β=102.38(6)° for Al70.0Pd9.2Co20.8]. The U-phase was found to have a C-centered monoclinic structure [a=1.9024(4) nm, b=2.9000(4) nm, c=1.3140(4) nm; β=117.26(3)° for Al69.1Pd16.5Co14.4].
