Rounded atelectasis, also known as folded lung or Blesovsky's syndrome, is a clinically innocuous entity. Its association with asbestos-induced pleural disease has been known since 1966. This complication of asbestos exposure is being recognized with increasing frequency. This unusual form of peripheral lobar collapse has sufficient characteristic radiologic findings to preclude thoracotomy for diagnosis.
