N2 - In this review, we will discuss the immunological basis for psoriasis with special emphasis on the role of effector T cells. With the understanding of this immunologic process, we will present a model for the development of targeted immune response modifiers, termed biologic immunotherapies, and their potential role for the benefit of patients with psoriasis.
