Abstract
The present analysis considers an integral equation formulation for the problem of the indentation of a nonhomogeneous elastic half space by an arbitrary number of punches. The elastic half space is represented by a material whose deformation modulus varies with the depth according to a power law. An analytical solution is obtained subject to the approximation that the separation of the punches is large when compared with the dimensions of the punches.
