Abstract
The Re(IV) mixed polychalcogenides [NMe4]5[Me2NH2]3[Re 4Se4(S3)4(S4) 2]2·2.25H2O (1) and [NH4]4[Re4Te4(S3) 4(S4)2]·8H2O (2) have been synthesized by the reaction of Re4Se4(TeCl2)4Cl8 with ammonium polysulfide, NMe4Cl, and Me2NH2Cl in water (1) or Re4Te4(TeCl2)4Cl8 with ammonium polysulfide in water (2). Both compounds contain Re4Q4 cubane-like clusters (Q=Se (1), Te (2)). Each cluster is additionally chelated by two trans S42- ligands and four S32- ligands.
