Theoretical design for a plasmon-polariton photonic crystal

Abstract

We explored a plasmon-polariton photonic crystal designed to have bandgap around 115-135 THz. With a cavity defect our structure strongly squeezes light, and with a Purcell's constant of 4.9×105 is suitable for single molecular detection.
