Thermodynamic modeling of the palladium-lead system

Abstract

A set of self-consistent thermodynamic model parameters is presented to describe the phase equilibria of Pd-Pb (palladium-lead) system. Sublattice description is used for thermodynamic modeling of the intermediate phases. The phases of invariant stoichiometry are described by a two-sublattice model and βPd5Pb3 and γPd5Pb3 phases with ranges of stoichiometry are described by a threesublattice model. The calculated values with optimized model parameters agree very well with various experimental data.
