Thin film electro-optic devices for 50 GHz applications

Abstract

We have demonstrated mm scale, thin film electro-optic modulator utilizing a photonic crystal structure. By decreasing device length the EO response was greater than 50 GHz. The microwave response of the modulator was measured and simulated.
