Various techniques are proposed to reduce significant errors in finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) including non-orthogonal meshing algorithms as well as locally conformal algorithms. The formulation and validation of an alternative CAD-based mesh generator which may be more robust than for arbitrary 3-D PEC geometries is presented. It is found that the mesh generator is capable of importing 3-D geometries from AutoCad and ProE and modeling both scattering and resonating structures.
