Abstract

Hyperthyroidism in children and adolescents results from diverse disorders, the most common being Graves' disease. It is important, however, to recognize the more unusual etiologies of thyrotoxicosis because optimal treatment regimens depend on precise diagnosis. The pathophysiology, clinical course, and treatment of different forms of thyrotoxicosis are reviewed in this article.
