Abstract
A 58-year-old woman had corticosteroid-responsive Tolosa-Hunt syndrome manifested by episodes of severe retro-orbital pain in the left eye and left sixth nerve palsy. Elevated sedimentation rate and a positive antinuclear factor accompanied exacerbations of her disease. Testing for antinuclear factor may help diagnose this rare cause of ophthalmoplegia.
